Vatvocate is a modern research engine for CJEU rulings in VAT cases.
It allows for quick and effective research of the Court decisions (judgments, orders and Advocate Generals’ opinions) thanks to their clear summaries prepared by us, linked by tags and keywords.
The judgments, orders and opinions are grouped in jurisprudence lines (case streams) which allow a quick overview and address the question: „are there any other relevant rulings in my case”?
As a part of the project, we are also working on commentaries to case law streams on specific VAT issues. Thanks to these materials, you receive a ready-made „input” to your work (opinions, tax letters etc.).
For the time being the search engine includes ECJ VAT cases from 2017 to 2019.

OUR MISSION

Analysing CJEU rulings on VAT matters can be a nightmare. We know this, as practitioners we have 'been there’.

With complicated sentences and difficult language, it is often difficult to follow the flow of the argument. Nevertheless, knowledge of CJEU rulings is essential for the VAT tax expert, especially if we advise multinational companies operating in the European Union market.

Our mission is to make tax research in VAT matters simpler, quicker and more pleasant. We want it to take you minutes, not hours, to find the relevant rulings on a given case.

We know from our own experience that nowadays a tax expert must act quickly, comprehensively and reliably, often on a limited budget.

Employing an army of consultants to analyse a given problem is often a pipe dream – we aim at making the research process simpler and faster.
WHO WE ARE?
My name is Dr. Michał Wilk.
I am a licensed tax advisor with over 12 years of experience in tax, a partner of Gardens Tax & Legal, a leading tax and legal advisory firm in Poland.
In 2021 I was recognized as one of a few top tax advisors in Poland by „Rzeczpospolita” – one of Poland’s premier business magazines.
I am also an adjunct professor at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Łódź an associate at the Centre of Tax Documentation and Studies, a think-tank and Poland’s top tax research institute
Together with my team we created Vatvocate – where we aim at making VAT ECJ cases comprehensible, relevant and connected.
